Wickes announces new CEO

Published: 10 July 2019 - Kiran Grewal

British home improvement retailer, Wickes, has announced Simon King will be replaced by David Wood as the new chief executive officer.

Mr Wood was previously CEO of Mothercare, and of American department store Kmart, as well as spending eight years at Tesco plc, where Mr Wood held a number of positions and moved up in the business.

CEO of Travis Perkins, John Carter, said: "We can confirm that David Wood took up the position as CEO for Wickes at the end of May 2019; bringing a wealth of executive retail experience to the role. David is very excited about the future growth opportunities for the business and we are delighted to have him on board.”
