Silverline launches #DIYHERO Campaign

Published: 24 April 2020 - Alex Fordham

Silverline Tools, manufacturers of over 5,000 hand and power tools have launched a hashtag Instagram campaign designed to empower and inspire DIYers who are stuck at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Silverline Tools prides itself on a content led marketing strategy and are industry leaders in producing How To and project videos to help DIYers globally. The campaign focusses on DIY projects for the home and garden and its primary aim is to encourage DIYers to share their projects using the #DIYHero hashtag to inspire and empower the DIY community.

Silverline Tools have been re-sharing all DIY projects which are shared under the #DIYHero hashtag, whilst sharing their own How To project videos from their successful YouTube channel. In addition, Silverline Tools are running regular competitions on Instagram to give DIYers the chance to win essential tools for their projects. Craig Phillips, Silverline Tools Brand Ambassador and DIY Expert has also been hosting live Q&A sessions on the Silverline Instagram account to answer any questions and help DIYers complete their projects. Silverline Tools have also teamed up with TV presenter, designer and upcycler Max McMurdo, who has been encouraging DIYers to get creative by building and sharing a shelf using the hashtag #ShelfIsolation. The most creative shelf won a Silverline cordless screwdriver.

The Silverline Tools YouTube channel has 118k subscribers and hosts 112 How To videos for the home and garden. Their most viewed project, How To build a brick BBQ currently has over 2.8m views. Silverline Tools have seen a 282% increase in average weekly views since the campaign launched.

Brand m anager, Kirsty Edwards said: “Silverline is proud to be a driving force in empowering and helping DIYers. We are always researching new projects to film which we know our customers and followers will learn from and love. The #DIYHero campaign is a great opportunity to help motivate and inspire the DIY community during a difficult time when most are stuck at home. Creating a campaign which gets DIYers talking and sharing their projects, irrespective of ability is something I am really proud to be involved in. The response so far has been brilliant, and we have seen some awesome projects shared and lots of prizes won!”
