Wilko staff in Swindon donate products to homeless charity

Published: 2 October 2017 - Kiran Grewal

Staff at Wilko have handed £250 worth of products to a charity that helps homeless people. Following the opening of the new Wilko store at the Greenbridge Retail Park in June, the company decided to present Swindon Night Shelter with £250 worth of homeware products.

The donation featured a variety of products from the store’s autumn/winter 2017 range including home accessories and storage to help provide a comfortable and welcoming place for the residents.

Chris Jones, Wilko Greenbridge manager, said: “We’re delighted to donate products to Swindon Night Shelter. It’s a great feeling knowing we were able to support a project that carries out such important work in the local area.”

Swindon Night Shelter offers homeless people a space to enjoy a hot meal, shower and washing facilities, and a stay in a bed on a Friday night.

Becky Davison, representative for Swindon Night Shelter, said: “We’re really excited to receive this generous donation from Wilko. Our guests always need new supplies and this donation will ensure we can continue to help the community and provide support for our residents.”
