Wyevale Garden Centres recruits new human resources chief

Wyevale Garden Centres (WGC) today announced that Lisa Cherry has been named human resources director.
She will join the board and report to chief executive officer Kevin Bradshaw when she joins the company on December 1.

Ms Cherry was formerly with WHSmith, where she was head of human resources for the travel head office and international businesses and the group head of learning and development. She has also held a number of senior human resources roles in Sainsbury's, and has 15 years' experience in retail head office and operational environments.

Mr Bradshaw said: "Lisa's wealth of knowledge and experience in human resource development and learning will be an asset to us as we continue to recruit talented team members and invest in learning, training and mentoring programmes for our colleagues across the organisation. Her experience in the retail sector will help us to continue to attract some of the top candidates with experience at leading retailers."
