Walton Flooring Centre named retailer of the year

Published: 29 November 2017 - Kiran Grewal

Knowsley Business Awards recognised Walton Flooring Centre as Retailer of the Year at their annual awards ceremony on 23rd November, just six weeks after they received the same accolade from Merseyside Independent Business Awards. This has been "unexpected" for the flooring retailer as it is the first year that they have entered in to these awards, so a fantastic result and one they are extremely proud of.

Walton Flooring Centre is an up and coming star in the Knowlsey region after opening their head office there in September 2016. They are a business that has grown exponentially over the past six years with no sign of slowing down in the future. They started life at a store based in Walton, Liverpool in 2011 and now have a chain of five retail stores in around Huyton, Liverpool, Southport and on the Wirral.

Magaing Director, James Harper comments: "We are unbelievably proud to have received this award, in recognition of our contribution to the Knowsley region. We are a team who work extremely hard to give our customer an outstanding service and we are delighted to be recognised for this. I am so proud to be able to share this award with all of our staff, suppliers and customers."

James who will turn 30 this year has worked in the industry for ten years and has his sights on opening a further seven stores in the next 18 months, employing local people to support this growth. The business which is family run and independent works tirelessly to compete with the bigger flooring retailers and is recognised by its customers for its exemplary service, support and aftercare.

James continues: "Our growth comes from our reputation in each of the local areas in which we are based. The majority of our customers return to us, bringing friends and family with them. We have grown as a company under our own steam, without any external funding or investment. We aim to stay independent, offering a standard of service that is better than the bigger brands on the high street."
