Try-umphant opening for new Benchmarx Kitchens branch in Cardiff

Published: 17 December 2021 - Neil Mead

A new kitchen store in Cardiff has been officially opened by a Welsh rugby legend in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery branch, on East Bay Close, officially opened on Monday 6 December by Welsh rugby legend, Shane Williams, MBE.

Lucky guests had the opportunity to meet and greet the rugby star, enter a raffle to win a signed shirt and enjoy refreshments from an on-site coffee van.

Visitors to the new store will be able to choose from a range of high-quality kitchen ranges to suit all tastes and pockets as well as leading brands in appliances, worktops and joinery. As a member of the Travis Perkins group, customers will have access to more than 25,000 building materials and products on site, which also includes a tools and plant hire section, providing everything needed to complete a project, all under one roof.

To celebrate the launch, the branch is offering 60 per cent off its Tool Hire service, as well as a number of other incentives to help complete jobs before Christmas. The team is also offering free professional kitchen design consultations, helping local tradespeople and homeowners alike to create a kitchen to suit any home and budget.

Ian Scudamore, branch manager at Benchmarx Cardiff South, said: “We’re thrilled to bring a new Benchmarx branch to Cardiff, and are very grateful to have had sporting legend, Williams, MBE, officially opening our new store.

“With Christmas almost here, and demand for home renovations and construction at an all-time high, the opening of this new location couldn’t come at a better time. The store has been designed to provide a one-stop shop for all kitchen and joinery needs, so we’re excited to make the kitchen dreams of the people of Cardiff come true and welcome our first customers!

“Whether you’ve got last-minute DIY jobs to do before Christmas arrives, or are thinking of starting 2022 with a new kitchen – our new home at Travis Perkins Cardiff South will have everything you need.”

Customers can choose to shop online, in branch or by using the new Travis Perkins app. The industry-first app has been designed in conjunction with customers to help them save time and work smarter by enabling them to check and order stock on the go at their personal trade prices in real time from their local branch.

The new branch is located in Travis Perkins on East Bay Close, Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF10 4SF.
