Tighten up security this summer, says Yale

Published: 21 May 2014
Yale is sharing its top tips for summer so that householders can know that they are protected while at home or away.
Tighten up security this summer, says Yale
Opportunistic thieves ramp up their activity around now, resulting in a 10% increase in domestic burglaries and a 40% increase in outdoor thefts.

For protection maximum protection Yale recommends securing external timber doors using a mortice lock and/or nightlatch that meets British Standard BS3621. And for PVCu or composite doors it is a good idea to consider upgrading the Euro profile cylinder in the multipoint lock to a British Standard Kitemark TS007 cylinder.

It is also worth investing in a home alarm, and for caravans and motorhomes Yale's battery-powered standalone alarms can be placed freestanding on a shelf or fixed to a wall.
