As The Range climbed 63 places in The Sunday Times 250 Top Track, it also announced that it will be opening seven new superstores in November, creating 1050 jobs.
The homewares, DIY and garden retailer moved to number 50 in the list at the end of last week, as store sales grew by 29% to £382m this year. This now makes it the biggest mid-market company in the south west of England.
Owner of The Range, Chris Dawson, also announced plans to open
45 stores in the next three years, creating 6750 jobs in the UK, with seven of these opening in November. This will take the retailer's current store count from 78 to 85 by the end of this year.
Last week, diyweek.net reported that
three of these new stores will be opened on one day at the end of November.
Commenting on the company's successes, Mr Dawson said: "It's a great achievement to make the Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table and we are very pleased to have climbed so high on the list in such a short space of time."
And talking of his expansion plans: "This is only the beginning of what we can achieve, we have set our sights high and I am more than confident that the company can achieve this. Our continued success is greatly down to the teams that we have around the UK," he said.
"None of this is luck, we are a growing business and our success is down to the fact we are able to offer customers a wide variety of products at unbeatable prices with a quality driven team on-board."
The Range will be launching its 2013 Christmas marketing campaign on November 1, which will include TV, radio and press campaigns.
