FA Secrett has announced that it has sold its garden centre in Milford, Surrey, to Squire's Garden Centres for an undisclosed figure.
Secretts Garden Centre will become the 15th centre for Squire's. It was a wholly owned subsidiary of FA Secrett and the company stressed that all other parts of the business will be unaffected. The Farm Shop, Farm and Pick Your Own will remain the focus of the business.
Managing director Charles Secrett said of the acquisition: "Secretts wish to concentrate their efforts on food production and food retailing. The interest in local home grown food continues to drive our business, and we see not only strong growth in sales through our Farm Shop in Milford but also an increasing demand from the top restaurants in London and across the south of England".
Secretts is known for its fresh salads, fruit and vegetables and its work supplying some of the country's leading chefs. The company said the sale sits well with the business.
Chairman of the Squire's group, Colin Squire, said: "Secretts Garden Centre is a very long established and highly regarded centre and I am delighted that it has become part of our group. I believe it is an excellent fit both in terms of its location and also the ethos of the business. We look forward to getting to know the team at the garden centre and its customers.
"We also believe that, in working closely with FA Secrett and their other enterprises, we can ensure that customers continue to enjoy a unique experience when visiting the businesses in Milford."
Squire's is a family owned horticultural business that celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2011 and following this acquisition, the company now operates 15 garden centres in Surrey, north and west London, Berkshire and Sussex.
