RKW stocks up on vacuum cleaners to beat power ban

Published: 8 October 2014
Wholesaler RKW says it has bought up "massive stocks" of high-powered vacuum cleaners to beat the ban imposed by the EU.
From September 1 this year it became illegal to import or manufacture vacuum cleaners over 1,600w. However, high-powered vacuum cleaners already in the UK can be distributed and sold to the public legally.

RKW, which specialises in end-of-line clearance deals and 'when it's gone it's gone' promotions, says it has bought huge stocks of 1,600w-plus vacuum cleaners from all over the UK and Europe to meet the huge demand being experienced by retailers.

"We know from national press headlines and feedback from our retail customers, that the public have been snapping up 1,600w-plus vacuum cleaners like crazy, sometimes buying two at a time - one for a spare," says RKW. "Brands we have stock of include Vax, Pifco, Samsung, Russell Hobbs, Thomas and Dirt Devil."
