Ridgeons employee raises £800 for EACH

Published: 18 October 2017 - Kiran Grewal

An employee from the Ridgeons branch in Halesworth has raised £800 for East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) by cycling more than 75 miles in one day.

Roger Cox began the charity’s Ride for Life challenge in Snetterton at 6:30am on Monday 2nd October, and arrived in Ipswich after cycling for 6 hours 20 minutes.

In preparation for the event, he cycled for an hour in the mornings before work, and set up a JustGiving page to collect sponsorship.

Roger commented: “I’m delighted I finished the cycle in good time, and I’m thrilled with the amount raised for EACH. It is a very important charity in East Anglia – it’s great that so many people were generous enough to sponsor my challenge. The cycle was tough at times but I enjoyed every second of it!”

Gus Chichon, Branch Manager of the Halesworth store, added: “The Ridgeons team here at Halesworth is proud of Roger for having completed Ride for Life. He should also be very pleased with himself for raising such an impressive amount of money for EACH – a wonderful cause and Ridgeons’ current charity partner.”
