Restaurant manager of Virgin Limited Edition’s Babylon restaurant in London Peter Avis is set to address delegates at the HTA Catering Conference – ‘A Piece of Cake?’
Sponsored by Compass Group, the conference takes place on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 June at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.
From dishwasher to UK Restaurant Manager of the Year, Peter Avis rose through the ranks of the hospitality industry to the rooftop heights of the prestigious Babylon Restaurant through hard work and fierce determination. He will share his passion for customer service and responsibility, and draw on his inspirational rags to riches story to demonstrate that anyone can aspire to reach whatever level they may choose.
HTA communications manager Gill Ormrod said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter to our conference line up. He has a truly inspiring story and his approach really demonstrates the importance of excellent customer service and the lasting impact it can have.”
Mr Avis will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday, June 13, where the focus for the day is on strategy and operations. The conference dinner which takes place that evening will feature Masterchef 2016 winner Jane Devonshire and the presentation of GTN’s Greatest Catering Awards. The second day of the conference, Wednesday 14 June, focusses on food.
