Worksop-based garden buildings manufacturer Kybotech has appointed a new director to head up the company’s buying team.
Catherine Lyons has joined the company from discount warehouse JTF, where she gained eight years of experience as director of buying.
She also spent three years as head of buying and merchandising for home shopping channels at Ideal Shopping Direct, with additional responsibility for quality assurance.
Ms Lyons’s appointment to lead product buying was confirmed in April after three months of working as a consultant to the business, which trades online under brands BillyOh.com and GardenBuildingsDirect.co.uk.
She will be responsible for sourcing and buying products and materials, and heading up a team of 12 stock, sales and marketing staff to help drive the company into its next stages.
Kybotech operates from a 20-acre site in Nottinghamshire and sells more than 165,000 sheds, log cabins, playhouses, green houses and outdoor garden buildings online each year.
The company was founded by CEO Charles Walton in 2000, and it now employs 220 people worldwide and boasts a £23million turnover.
Commenting on Ms Lyons’ appointment, COO Christopher Palmer-Smith said: “We’re delighted to have found a candidate of Catherine’s calibre for this position. The role of buying director is crucial to our continued growth and so Catherine’s appointment marks another step in the right direction for the company.
“Catherine boasts valuable skills in sourcing, purchasing, and marketing, and we’re excited to see what the future holds.”
Catherine Lyons added: “It’s a privilege to be appointed by the UK’s largest online garden buildings retailer and manufacturer. Kybotech has a fantastic track record of success and I’m hoping to make a significant contribution to its development during my time here.”
