Kasp: 40 years of security expertise

Published: 8 July 2022 - Neil Mead

Kasp is one of the UK’s leading ranges of padlocks, chains and cables developed from over 40 years of experience in the security business.

Designed and manufactured to the highest standards, Kasp is globally recognised for its innovation and strength and is the first choice for businesses including security businesses, independent grocers, industrial and online security suppliers.

Some of Kasp’s more innovative and popular ranges include the high-end 190 series and weather resistant 145 Marine padlock, designed for a multitude of uses, ranging from commercial to residential.

Renowned for their extreme strength, Kasp 190 series padlocks have been designed, manufactured, and tested in accordance with the stringent internationally recognised Central European Norm specifications. The award winning Kasp 190 series padlocks have also been awarded the Sold Secure Diamond Padlock certification, tested to BS EN 12320: Class 6, the highest grade, ensuring they are amongst the most secure padlocks available.

Precision crafted from a solid block of high-grade hardened steel and weighing over 1.5kgs (3.3lbs), the Kasp 190 Series are a true heavyweight that will resist the most brutal of attacks. The rekeyable, drill resistant six-pin cylinder featuring anti-pick pins is designed to resist intelligent picking and manipulation methods, whilst the 14mm hardened boron steel shackle is secured in the locked position by two ball bearings, universally accepted as one of the most secure locking mechanisms available.

Suitable for applications including garages, property shutters, vehicles, factories and containers, the range includes, open and closed shackle, keyed alike and master keyed options.

As an island country, 75% of the UK’s regions are classified as coastal, and 94% of the population live within 30 miles of the sea*. With that comes the realisation that sea salt spray can travel significant distances, well over 30 miles, and is more corrosive to metal than fresh water – five times faster, in fact.

To avoid padlock corrosion and malfunction, Kasp has introduced its Marine Padlock Series, precision engineered from premium grade materials to offer exceptional weather resistance. The padlocks exceed the ISO 9227 salt spray requirements, showing no signs of corrosion or mechanical failure thanks to their mirror chromed solid brass bodies, rust free internal components, stainless steel shackles and rubber shackle seals. Security is ensured with double bolted locking mechanisms and five pin cylinders with anti-pick mushroom pins.

The range includes 40mm and 50mm padlocks, standard and long shackle and keyed alike in all variants.
