Hughes reopens six Bennetts stores

Published: 5 April 2011
Hughes Electrical has reopened the six Bennetts stores it acquired after the company entered administration last month.
Hughes bought the six stores in Dereham, Cromer, Norwich, Farnham, Colchester Tollgate and Martlesham Heath from administrators PKF, and has retained 117 original staff members.

Cromer store manager Simon Morton said: "This has been a difficult time for all of us but now the staff are just delighted to have the stores open and for us to be trading again under the Bennetts brand. We are looking forward to meeting customers old and new and they can be assured of a warm welcome."

Hughes Electrical md Robert Hughes added: "We have been working flat out since we acquired the stores on March 22 and it's a great tribute to all concerned that we have got them open again so quickly.
