Essential reading for retailers and suppliers in the home improvement market

Hardware independent grows the workforce

Expanding independent Wilbys Home Hardware has taken on two new employees.
Hardware independent grows the workforce
The business opened its third store four months ago, in Diss, Norfolk, and joint owner Tina Wilby told diyweek.net: "We have now, due to the success of the shop, had to employ Rob Bailey.

"He is new to DIY stores but is a complete asset as his attention to customer service is second to none. He has settled in so well, learning the trade extremely fast and really is a huge asset to our (hopefully) growing business.

"He does have retail experience so is showing Carl and I how to lay the shop out properly!"

Meanwhile, at Hilltop Hardware in Botesdale in Suffolk, which sells DIY and pet foods, Mrs Wilby and husband Carl have taken on Jackie Foulger as a 'girl Friday'.

"Again, she is new to the DIY/hardware market but like Rob, which is so important to the ethos of our business, her customer care and attention is brilliant," Mrs Wilby said.
