DIY shed destroyed in fire

Published: 22 July 2008
An Essex branch of Wickes has been destroyed in a fire that tore through the building in the early hours of this morning.
According to a report from the London Fire Brigade, 12 fire engines and around 60 firefighters attended the scene after the alarm was raised just after 2.30am. It took them more than three hours to get the blaze under control.

No one was hurt in the incident and the cause is now the subject of an investigation. The fire follows news from diyweek.net yesterday that a Wyevale garden centre in Bedfordshire was completely destroyed by a fire on Sunday.

DIY Week will be following both incidents closely and will be reporting any updates as soon as they available.
