Builder's got talent

Published: 16 June 2010
Joiner Adam Contoret was awarded first place at the TradePoint Whistle While You Work final in Erdington on June 8.
Builder's got talent
Mr Contoret was one of five finalists who showed off their skills in front of celebrity judges Craig Phillips and world champion whistler David Morris.

He was awarded £1,000 and crowned Britain's best whistling builder for his performance of Over the Rainbow. Handyman John Keilaus came second for his rendition of Bring Me Sunshine and paving specialist Warren Stephens came third after performing the National Anthem.

Mr Contoret said: "I'm always whistling way at work, sometimes it drives the boys a bit mad, but I never thought it would get me anywhere. I'm completely in shock. It's fantastic to win and I'm looking forward to spending the money, £1,000 isn't bad for a morning's whistling is it?"
