Bord na Móna sponsors Shrewsbury show garden

Published: 16 July 2013
Bord na Móna UK is sponsoring Moreton Park Garden Centre's Good Enough to Eat show garden at the 126th Shrewsbury Flower Show next month.
45,000 visitors are expected to view the garden, designed by Wrexham-based Moreton Park as an ornamental feature in which all the plants are edible. Bord na Móna has supplied a pallet of its Vital Earth multi-purpose peat-free compost, used by Moreton Park to raise the plants from seed.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Steve Harper, Bord na Móna's head of UK retail, said: "Consumers are especially keen to use natural, traceable, green growing media when raising edible crops, so the concept of the edible garden really appealed."

Vital Earth composts are all peat-free and made from sanitized green garden waste blended with FSC bark and naturally-derived nutrients.

The flower show runs August 9-10.
