BHETA launches member webinar

Published: 29 April 2020 - Alex Fordham

Following considerable uptake of its online member support services during the Covid-19 pandemic, BHETA is launching a series of webinars on a range of issues arising from the crisis.

The first event is with solicitors’ firm, Howes Percival LLP and takes place on Thursday 30t April 2020 at 10:30am.  Three experts from Howes Percival, BHETA’s legal service provider will be covering employment law, commercial and corporate and tenancy agreements and answering questions.

Gerald Couldrake, Partner in the corporate and commercial team will discuss how the emergency affects commercial supply, including force majeure, frustration of contracts, getting goods back in the light of insolvency and the cancellation of contracts / return of goods no longer needed.  Graham Irons, Partner in the employment team will cover the Job Retention Scheme, redundancies and homeworking, while Simon Murphy, Partner in the property disputes team will deal with the rights of commercial landlords and tenants.

A second webinar, this time with RT7, the digital agency specialising in selling on Amazon has also been arranged for Tuesday 5th May at 10:30am.  Jack Cooper, Data Insight Manager will share advice on Amazon sales since the onset of COVID-19, fulfilment, delivery charges, customer services, seller fulfilled opportunities and the future for ecommerce.

Commenting on the new webinar programme, BHETA’s marketing manager, Steve Richardson said: “Since the coronavirus pandemic became a serious economic challenge for all members, BHETA has held two successful Credit Forum events online.  It has also been advising on issues such as how to set up video conferencing accessibly and affordably and how best to manage remote working.  The uptake has been considerable, so it was logical to extend the scope of the support via a webinars programme.”

BHETA’s chief operating officer, Will Jones added: “In the current crisis, organisations need to adapt and maintain their ability to conduct presentations, meet buyers and hold normal business meetings.  Even longer term, it makes sense for business to continue to communicate face-to-face online in terms of flexibility, cost-saving and the environment.  We expect attendance to be high for the webinar programme and it’s great that technology is enabling us to keep talking and providing crucial advice.”
