BHETA appoints Andrew Weiss as executive chairman
A familiar face at BHETA, Mr Weiss has been one of the organisation's directors since 1998, was Chairman of DIY Committee from 2003 to 2005 and a past BHETA President from 2008 to 2010. He was also President of the Rainy Day Trust from 2014 to 2016.

Mr Weiss began his marketing career in 1983 at Spur Shelving, then part of the Savage Group, rising to European marketing director, before leaving Spur in 1992 to become managing director of garden accessories company, Pan Products, another of the group's companies.

Mr Weiss returned to Spur Shelving, now part of the McKechnie Group in 1995 as managing director and following McKechnie's acquisition by Newell Rubbermaid became director of UK trade sales for Swish UK in 2002. In 2003, he moved to become managing director of Isaac Lord, the company's first 'non-family' director in 120 years. He remained with Isaac Lord until 2011, following a successful sale to new owners. Over the last five years Mr Weiss has been running his own marketing consultancy, providing strategic management to businesses operating within the construction products sector.

Commenting on his new role at BHETA, Mr Weiss said, "I am delighted to be joining a well established and successful team at BHETA and look forward to contributing to improving members' involvement with the Association while adding value to their businesses."

BHETA's president Roger Morgan Grenville added, "We are very pleased to have been able to secure the services of Andrew as our Executive Chairman. His extensive commercial experience, coupled with his detailed knowledge of BHETA as one of its past directors and Presidents, sets him up to make a strong and almost immediate contribution.

"More than anything, Andrew is a passionate advocate of BHETA's foremost role as a members' organisation that will be judged by the services and supports that it provides for the individual members. I am much looking forward to working with him."
