But new research from UK Radiators has found that 67% of homeowners aged 25–40 don’t know how to bleed their radiator, instead relying on family members for help with the simple but essential task.

Bleeding a radiator – a five-minute job requiring only a radiator key – improves heating efficiency, reduces energy waste, and prevents noisy pipes. Yet the survey highlights a growing “DIY confidence gap” among younger homeowners.
