Manufacturer of wall, roof and landscaping products, Wienerberger, has announced the appointment of Stephanie Palmer as its new sustainability adviser.
Wienerberger appoints new sustainability adviser
Ms Palmer has gained substantial knowledge from working within the field of sustainability and has dedicated her career to-date towards minimising the manufacturing industry's environmental footprint, says the company.

Beyond her 1st class honours degree in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia, Ms Palmer has promoted the green agenda via discussions with members of both the domestic and European parliaments during her time as technical and sustainability adviser at the British Ceramic Confederation and by sitting on committees dedicated to addressing resource efficiency challenges within brick and roof tile manufacturing.

In her new role at Wienerberger, Ms Palmer will work alongside all departments in a bid to embed environmental awareness and social responsibility in every facet of the company's activities.

Ms Palmer said of her appointment: "I am very excited to be advising Wienerberger on methods to enhance its already impressive green credentials. As the construction industry continues to go from strength to strength following the economic downturn, the demands placed upon the manufacturers of construction products are growing exponentially and it is vital we minimise any impact the associated increase in activity may have upon the environment.

"From a sustainability perspective, the industry is going through an interesting transition in terms of standards and legislative renewal, and I'm very much looking forward to working closely with Wienerberger's departments to not only keep up to date with these changes but to go beyond their requirements."
