    The Direct Company has announced a 14% increase in turnover for the first half of a very wet 2007.
Paul Woolley, managing director of the Direct Company told diyweek.net the mix of offers from preferred suppliers is helping members achieve good levels of growth, particularly from the cookshop and housewares sector. 
"This is further evidence of the popularity of The Direct Company service with retailers and suppliers alike," the md said.
He added that even the wet month of July has produced an increase of more than 17% on the same period in 2006.
