Published: 1 July 2015
London-based mechanic Wayne Brooks has been crowned the winner of the WD-40 Be My Mechanic competition, following a live final which took place at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The event saw Mr Brooks go head-to-head with three other contestants for the chance to win £500 and the opportunity to become part of The Sun/WD-40 rally team at the Wales Rally GB in November.

The four finalists were challenged to a timed wheel change, spare part identification and a navigation test. All of the tasks were designed to evaluate the finalists' technical knowledge, mechanical capability and ability to perform under pressure.

Said Mr Brooks: "I can't wait to go to Wales Rally GB. This is an amazing opportunity to spend four days working with a professional motorsport team and experiencing everything they do during this iconic event."
