Shopware CEO Stefan Heyne believes the UK market is important to the business and will relocate to head up the team

E-commerce platform Shopware is opening a dedicated London office in response to increased demand for its services, as it describes the UK as “one of our most important markets”.

Shopware reports that it has enabled more than £5billion in gross e-commerce volume, making it the largest ecommerce platform currently operating in the German market.

Since actively entering the UK market in 2016, the team has worked closely with a number of major brands and partner agencies to adapt its software for local requirements and has, in turn experienced a 500% growth rate over the past 18 months.

The company believes the new London premises will allow it to further establish the UK as a core market. Shopware CEO Stefan Heyne will relocate from Germany to lead the onsite team, which will comprise sales specialists, enterprise relations managers and partner managers.

Mr Heyne said: “The past 18 months have proven that the UK is one of our most important markets. This has been illustrated through an increased demand for Shopware’s solutions, resulting in a requirement for permanent premises in the UK.

“We’re now pleased to unveil the plans for our new London office, opening in August 2018, which we believe will help us to become the UK’s leading e-commerce platform.”
