Family-run retailer, Hamer Hardware has made its Twitter debut this month and shown its sense of humour with the launch of its new viral advert.

The tongue-in-cheek promotional video stars owner Mohsin Mamoon as he gives viewers a tour of the independent DIY shop and demonstrates some of the products on offer (watch out for his superhero-style comedy finale).

Hamer Hardware has been trading in the town for nearly 20 years and also sells online via Ebay. It already has a strong Facebook presence, known for its lighthearted posts, but has decided to step up its social media presence with its new Twitter account.

The shop has two B&Q stores within a 25-minute drive and, in a bid to encourage customers to support their local independent,  posted its new video to social media with the tag "Greater Mancs, you can B&Q it OR save a heap at Hamer DIY"
