Rainy Day Trust issues statement on Coronavirus outbreak

Published: 17 February 2020 - Alex Fordham

Rainy Day Trust, the charity which exists to help people who have worked in the UK’s home improvement and enhancement industry, has released a statement on the recent Coronavirus outbreak.

Bryan Clover, CEO, Rainy Day Trust, commented:

“One of the consequences of the shutdown of a lot of China's manufacturing sector is the supply of both raw materials and products to the UK markets. This in turn will impact on the industry's ability to meet customer demand and could affect staff hours and employment.

“If your business starts to feel the impact of the virus, even if it is short-term, and you feel that you need to review your workforce, please involve us from the very start, as we can help with many of the issues that you may encounter.

“We can support both you and your staff. Of course, any contact with us will remain completely confidential, but we would prefer to get involved early and so have a preventative effect rather than a curative one. As always we are here to help.”
