New president

Published: 26 April 2011
The Worldwide DIY Council has appointed Dr Jayne Seagrave as president, with effect from May 1, 2011.
Dr Seagrave, who is marketing director of the Vancouver Tool Corporation, takes over from former executive secretary Donald Droesch, who is retiring from the council.

Dr Seagrave has been a member of the council for more than six years and served on the board from 2007 to 2010. She holds a Ph. D in criminology and is the first woman to be elected to the presidential role.

Board vice-chairman Bill Marsheck said: "We're delighted to have persuaded Jayne to take the helm. She is well known to many of us in the home improvement industry and bring to the position not only the experience of a North American manufacturer with first hand international sales experience, but is also well-respected amongst her Canadian, United Sates and European peers. We expect her charismatic personality, energy and enthusiasm will inject a totally new dynamic into our organization."
