New manager at Wyevale Thornbury

Paul Hodges "delighted" to take up the role at the garden centre in Milbury Heath.
New manager at Wyevale Thornbury
Mr Hodges will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre, which is part of The Garden Centre Group.

He said: "I am delighted to have been appointed to this position and I am pleased to be joining the garden centre's team.

"I have worked at garden centres in the Group for the past 33 years and I recently received a long-service award. I am very excited about my new role at Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre."

Before beginning his career in the industry, Mr Hodges, who lives in Hereford, gained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Plant Care and Production from Pershore Horticultural College in Worcestershire.

He began working at Brockworth Garden Centre in Gloucester, which is also part of The Garden Centre Group, as a general assistant in 1976 when he was just 21.

He has worked for other garden centres in the Group including Wyevale Lelant Garden Centre in Cornwall, Marple Garden Centre in Stockport, Northampton Garden Centre in Northampton and Wyevale Hereford Garden Centre in Hereford. Most recently, Mr Hodges worked as manager of Blooms Cardiff Garden Centre in Cardiff.

Garden Centre Group regional manager Melanie Evans said: "We would like to welcome Paul to Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre. He brings with him a wealth of experience from the horticulture industry."
