New buying director

Published: 22 September 2011
Wickes has appointed Dan Lowans as buying director.
Mr Lowans previously held the role of buying director at office supplies retailer Staples, and also worked as a freelance business consultant prior to that.

Wickes said Mr Lowans will introduce a renewed approach to the company's buying strategy, whilst maintaining the focus on sourcing and developing high-quality products.

He said: "I am delighted to be joining Wickes as its buying director, taking the lead on the company's commitment to continually improving its own-brand proposition. The business saw a number of new products and ranges successfully launched throughout 2010 and the fist half of 2011, and we intend to build on this with the sourcing and development of more high-quality, own-label products over the coming 12 months."
