Kent-based charity Tree of Hope is urging supporters to get involved in its 40 Days of Hope challenge for Lent.

The charity, which helps fundraise for children’s operations, therapies and equipment that are unobtainable via the NHS, has come up with a suggesting of 40 small acts for people to try to include in their day to day lives – tagging the charity in their social media to let them know what they are achieving.

These include everything from random acts of kindness to small fundraising tasks, such as making a small donation to the charity for each piece of fruit you eat that day or shoes you own, getting some exercise or simply getting in touch with someone who would love to hear from you. Lent starts on February 17 and the challenge runs for 40 days, up until Easter.

Tree of Hope CEO Gill Gibb said: ‘The tasks are designed to inform people about our work as well as raise funds and awareness. They’re all things that anyone can do from small children upwards – we hope people will get their families and friends involved,help raise funds and have some fun along the way having something different to do, especially during lockdown.’
