Jewson cyclists raise £30,000 for Barnardo's

Jewson has heralded its third annual Tour de Jewson a great success after £30,000 was raised for its charity partner Barnardo's.
The tour kicked off from seven locations on September 10 and saw participants cycle their way via 151 Jewson branches, marking the mid-way point at the Jewson head office in Binley, Coventry on September 13. The riders then travelled north, finishing at John O'Groats on September 22.
The whole event covered 2,500 miles, but the event saw a record number of staff, suppliers and customers take part this year, and donations are still coming in.
Jewson sales director Paul Edwards commented: "I'm delighted that the Tour de Jewson has been able to raise a considerable sum of money for our 'together' charity partner Barnardo's. The contribution we can now make to the charity is a real testament to all those who dedicated the time and effort to take part in the event!"
He added his thanks to the sponsors of the tour's support vehicles, O2, Tarmac, Jeld-Wen and Akzo Nobel, and to Wavin, which has sponsored the tour's jerseys since the event first began.
