Hozelock chairman steps down

David Codling has announced his intention to retire as Hozelock executive chairman after 30 years in the role.

The announcement follows Steve Hall's recent appointment as group ceo and has been planned for some time. Simon Laffin, an advisor to the board for the past three years will become non-executive group chairman.

Speaking of his decision Mr Codling said: "Now that Hozelock has a strong team in place under Steve Hall's leadership, I can hand over the reins in full confidence that the business is well placed to build on its 50 years of success, both at home and internationally."
