The Chinese-owned flooring retailer has set out a manifesto to become the biggest player in the UK flooring market by the end of 2018, with plans to grow its store portfolio from 22 to 80

“Massive investment, major impact and monster growth” are set to be the hallmarks of Flooring Republic’s next 18 months, says the company, as it puts ambitious plans in place to position the fast-growing business as the largest solid wood and wood laminate flooring specialists in the UK by the end of next year.

Flooring Republic is the UK retail arm of Anbo Holdings, a family-run global flooring business that was established in 1988. Headquartered in China, Anbo has operations in the USA, Australia, Italy and France.

Flooring Republic says its growth has come hand in hand with the “phenomenal increase in wood flooring demand” and with, this expected to increase even further the retailer now plans to extends its reach in the UK and open new outlets in cities and towns that share its “approach to providing greater employment£. .

The company has had huge backing from powerful Chinese investors, which has already resulted in the acquisition of online flooring specialists Posh Flooring, making a substantial addition to their portfolio; and the number of Flooring Republic outlets is set to double in the coming months with the aim of having 80 stores retailing throughout the UK by December next year.

Anbo Holdings benefits from its own sustainable supply chain from forestry, woodland and production centres in China to its international stores.

Anbo International and Flooring Republic CEO Bobby Zhou said: “We believe that Flooring Republic offers a unique business model through sustainably managed forests, fabulous strategic and economic development partnerships with urban centres throughout the country, secure employment opportunities and career progression including professional training academy apprenticeships and ultimately the best of both worlds for our customers in progressive retail outlets and hi-tech shopping experiences.”

He continued: “We are actively seeking and being regularly approached by strategic business allies that will see us add to our nationwide network through local enterprise partnerships with councils in cities and towns in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Existing colleagues in cities such as London, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham, York and Cardiff are already working closely with Flooring Republic and share our enthusiasm. Our message is clear. We intend to be number one in this industry and we want to work with you.”

Mr Zhou and Dominic Nowell-Barnes, previously CEO of Posh Flooring, which he started in 2008, view the next 18 months as “just the beginning” of Flooring Republic’s intended dominant position in the UK flooring market, adding that the ultimate goal is to float the company on the stock exchange.

Discussing the acquisition of his company, Mr Nowell-Barnes said he viewed the takeover an essential major step in Flooring Republic’s journey towards market leadership.

“Digital technology has made a considerable impact on customer purchase,” he said. “Flooring Republic is now the only organisation in the UK flooring market to offer the whole media and retail package of an efficient and customer conscious call centre, easy-to-use and attractive online store website and a nationwide network of modern, multi-functional outlets. We’re also the only flooring business that offers the same price regardless of which platform our customers choose to order their purchase.”

This firm Has  has lied and lied is totally unscrupulous in its business practices.  I along with many others are still waiting for a full refund for flooring not received.  Awaiting refund since January 2018. They will not respond to any communication of any sort phone/post/emails. I have involved Trading standards who are investigating their business practices.

Monster growth off the back of taking people's money and not supplying the goods it would money is on the cash leaving this business into another of BZ's ventures and then FR and PF being wound up, leaving customers and suppliers in the lurch.

I really do wish I had read these comments before ordering my flooring.  This company should be renamed FOOLINGthePUBLIC.  I have been waiting for a refund of nearly £300 for over 2 months. I have called into their branch in Cardiff and have been given by them nothing except promises after false promises. When I asked for the Head Office phone number the young man said that it would be more than his job's worth to give it out. What kind of company operates like this.  I will be taking them to Trading Standards this week and  will see what comes of that.. In the meantime they still have the two complete boxes of unopened flooring which I returned and I do not yet have my money.  FOOLINGthePUBLIC are a complete shower and all the disgruntled people they have hoodwinked should band together to sort them out.

Worst company around by a mile. Obviously having financial difficulties. Missing orders, refund issues, lies from head office to store level. They won't call you back when they promise to. Read all reviews on Trust pilot, google, yell etc. Do not give them your hard earned cash. Go elsewhere. They trade in bull**it. I was repeatedly lied to for months. If they achieve the status of biggest flooring company in the UK by the end of 2018 it will be a miracle.

After months of searching for the correct flooring, my wife finally found one at Flooring Republic. We purchased the wooden flooring for our dining room and carpet for the living room (both rooms are opened as one). We weren't really keen on the carpets but the sales advisor explained we would have a really good deal for both. We decided to have the hallway and starts fitted with the wood flooring and carpet also and were given a price which we agreed and paid in full. It would take 4 weeks for the flooring to be fitted. The day before fitting, we received a phone call explaining that the flooring had arrived at the store and was damaged on delivery. This would mean the fitting date would need to changed. Luckily where my wife and I work are flexible and we could cancel our days off. After nearly 2 weeks, we were told that the flooring was discontinued and they couldn't replace it. They offered us the chance to pick another. Sadly They had nothing similar. Because of This, I requested our money back. They would refund the wooden flooring but not the carpet. We can't have the carpet fitted without the wood flooring! We now have to use another company and fight for our money to be returned! I spoke to the shop staff... manager... and after complaining to their head office... I am still waiting a call from their area manager. We have been over 5 months now without flooring ( this is requested to be removed before the fitters arrive.) - it's unacceptable. After paying just under £1000, we are still waiting for our money. I have never witnessed customer service or any high street store treat customers the way this company does. Without a doubt, take your money elsewhere... they may seem cheap - but you get what you pay for... Please- Avoid this company! They'll just take your money! ** update ** After failing to pay the refund into the bank, we've had to return to the store a 6th time to finally have it paid back to our bank card... 6 months later. What a joke and a waste of time!
