Exeter City Women's FC and Lord Mayor attend opening of new Travis Perkins branch

Published: 4 August 2021 - Neil Mead

Exeter City Women’s FC and the Lord Mayor Cllr Trish Oliver, attended the opening of the new Travis Perkins branch in Exeter.

The branch has set up a new sponsorship deal with the club which includes a subscription to the software of the team’s new goal analysis camera and a tripod as well as programme sponsorship. The goal analysis camera means that the club can record and analyse their matches and training sessions and track the movement of their players and the ball.

Daniel Haggerty, branch manager at Travis Perkins said: "Exeter City Women’s FC sits at the heart of the local community and as we’ve opened a new Travis Perkins branch on Hennock Road North, we wanted to show our support for the club. After speaking with Stacey Hedge we asked what we could do to help and Stacey said that there was a shortfall in sponsorship so we’re delighted to help and hope this can be a real asset for the team this season. We look forward to supporting the community in the years to come".

Stacey Hedge, business development manager at Exeter City Community Trust said: “When Travis Perkins first approached the club offering support, my first thought was that it was perfect timing, as we are investing in new equipment and latest facilities for the team and the sponsorship really helps.  I’m sure this new partnership will be the beginning of a very productive relationship.”

The branch which opened yesterday was visited by striker Connie Pengelly and defender Katie Griggs who were taken on a tour of the new 2.5 acre site. The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Trish Oliver also attended and officially opened the new branch.

The site is 2.5 acres in size, bigger than a football pitch and it also includes a Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery, the company's trade-only kitchen business and there are a total of 25 colleagues that work at the site, with 10 new roles created. It offers a full range of Bricks, Lintels, Drainage, Carcassing and Tool Hire and customers can choose to shop online, in branch or by using the new Travis Perkins app. The app has been designed in conjunction with customers to help them save time and work smarter by managing their account on the go. Customers can shop online and easily manage their trade account, wherever they are.

Travis Perkins Exeter is located at Hennock Road North, Marsh Barton Trading Estate, Exeter EX2 8NJ.
