Dobbies appoints former B&Q manager Steve Guy

Published: 14 January 2013

Following the departure of Neil Fishlock for Decco, Dobbies has appointed former B&Q category manager Steve Guy as its new head of buying for plants and gardening.

Mr Guy brings a wealth of experience through his category trading and senior buying management roles at B&Q, as well as work with various nurseries and outdoor plants wholesale supplier The Farplants Group. As well as a national diploma in commercial horticulture, Mr Guy has more than 20 years of experience in the gardening sector.

Dobbies' commercial director Katharine Poulter said: "I'm delighted Steve is joining our senior team; as a leading expert in the industry, he'll be a real asset to our business and integral in metting our vision to be the UK's leading gardens and homes retailer."

Mr Guy will officially join Dobbies' central support office outside Edinburgh on February 18.
