Dick Falconer remembered

Published: 7 April 2009
Many in the tool trade in Scotland and North East England will mourn the passing of Dick Falconer, who died on January 25 at the age of 82 after a short illness.
Dick Falconer remembered
Those with long memories will know that Dick worked for several years with the leading Glasgow engineers merchants Fyfe & MacGrouther before embarking on his career as a sales representative.

But they might not know that during World War II Dick served in the Royal Navy and sailed many times up the North Sea and around the Norwegian coast escorting the Russian convoys, braving the threat of attack by U-Boats and German bombers.

Dick Falconer was a long-serving member of the salesforce of Bahco Tools, which he joined in 1970 when it was a tiny company working from a converted Chinese laundry in Tottenham, North London.

Covering the territory of Scotland and North East England, Dick played an important role in the company's steady growth to its position today as one of the leading names in our industry.
