Diane Stevens to swim for RDT

Published: 29 August 2012
Rainy Day Trust general secretary Diane Stevens has pledged to undertake a swim equivalent to swimming the channel to raise money for the industry charity.
In 12 weeks she will cover 22 miles, which equates to 1,416 lengths of her local pool, and means that she will be making a commitment to swim 120 lengths each week.

Ms Stevens hasn't swum for over 10 years but said she was inspired by the London Olympics to undertake the fundraising activity to support the RDT. All money raised for the Trust goes directly towards helping out those from within the DIY industry that have fallen on hard times.
