This is the first Forget Me Not 500 'banger rally' challenge and it will see Mr Hall start his journey on June 12, arriving back in England on June 15.

Mr Hall will be joined by two team mates, who will help him drive the £500 Daihatsu YRV to Paris and back.

He said: "The Forget Me Not charity is a hugely worthwhile charity, and we want to raise as much as we can for them.

"Our car is ready to go but now we need to appeal to our friends, families, business associates and local communities to help us reach our £3,000 fundraising target.

"I can't urge people enough to dig deep and give generously - every penny will be hugely appreciated."

The charity helps children with life shortening illnesses enjoy the time they have left with their families.
