Covers appoints new commercial director

Philip Walford has been appointed commercial director at timber and builders merchants Covers.

Philip has spent 13 years working in the industry focusing on end-to-end category strategy and management and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the independent merchant.  For the past five years he has been working as senior category manager at Grafton Merchanting.

Based at Covers’ headquarters in Chichester, West Sussex, Philip will oversee the procurement team, reviewing commercial, product, price and supplier strategy and engaging with major stakeholders to fulfil growth objectives and support Covers’ network of depots across the south of England.
