High Wycombe's retailers report 69% increase
Retailers large and small reported that sales rose as much as 69% as homeowners used the good weather to start renovating their properties.

B&Q told the Bucks Free Press that its store generated a 69% increase on 2006 figures as visitors queued to get in. Best-sellers included garden furniture and woodcare.

Homebase, which is situated in the same street, said sales increased 40%, while Focus recorded a 20% rise thanks, again, to purchases of outdoor items.

Isaac Lord was closed over Easter but told the paper that sales of decorating goods sold well in the run-up to the Easter break.
