Blooms announces young horticultural finalist

James English of Easton College, Norwich has been crowned regional finalist in the 'Young Horticulturalist of the Year' at Blooms of Bressingham Garden Centre.

The 19-year-old was amongst six others competing for the regional finalist at the garden centre at Diss near Ipswich.

He will go through to the national final of the competition that is celebrating its 20th anniversary on May 7.

The winner will receive a £2,000 Percy Thrower Travel Bursary to travel and study plants of interest anywhere in the world.

Blooms general manager Adrian Goodall said: "we would like to congratulate James and we wish him the best of luck in the grand final."
