This new company will be managed by md Andy Johnson. He said: "Wyevale Nurseries is embarking on the start of this new journey with renewed passion and determination to become market leaders in the supply of trees, transplants and container grown plants into the British market place. We continue to strive to be the customer's first choice.

"The reorganisation will free up the team's time to concentrate on and further enhance innovative production techniques and trialling new varieties, sustainable long into the future."

Mr Johnson adds that Wyevale is now aiming to become the 'one-stop-shop' for the landscaping and retail markets.

Established in 1928 by Harry Williamson, Wyevale Nurseries continues to be a family-run company with third generation Heather and Simeon Williamson having joint ownership and chairmanship.

Ms Williamson added: "Building the business - having grown up with it but observing it from the outside - it was apparent to ensure it had a long-term future, it made sense to bring all of the production divisions together to provide the 'one-stop-shop' customers are looking for these days."

Mr Johnson adds that unifying the divisions will enable Wyevale to broaden its product range available to customers and enhance the customer service provided.
