Wyevale Garden Centres has grown its estate to 143 with the acquisition of Raglan Garden Centre in Raglan, Monmouthshire.
Raglan Garden Centre, which has over 60,000sq ft of internal and external retail space, has been owned and operated by Martin and Jean Davies, who acquired the site in 1991.

Since then they have improved footfall and built an impressive restaurant and stylish interiors department. The centre has been recognised with a number of recent awards, including the Garden Centre Association's Best Plant Area Wales & West 2013 and Best Christmas Displays 2012 and 2013.

Mr and Mrs Davies said: "After 23 years at the helm, it's time for us to take a step back and hand over the reins of Raglan to a company that can drive it forward and continue the success it has enjoyed.

"This is not without regret, as we have made great friends in the industry and we will miss them sorely. Our team at Raglan has been inspirational in making the business what it is today and for that we would like to thank them all sincerely."

Wyevale chief executive Kevin Bradshaw added: "We're pleased to continue our growth with the addition of the award-winning Raglan Garden Centre, which has a strong and loyal customer base and an excellent reputation among garden enthusiasts.

Last week, Wyevale confirmed that it had bought Trelawney's garden centre at Ashford, Near Barnstaple in north Devon, with the company's other two sites going to Blue Diamond.
