VisualConfig, the free online tool helps hundreds design garden rooms each month

Published: 28 June 2021 - James Mead

VisualConfig is a free online tool to design garden rooms in 3D and create cutting lists and plans. The site was created as a personal project but it has now grown to a size where over 600 garden rooms are designed each month.

The site creates 3D visualisations of garden rooms and sheds. The user inputs all their requirements like size and cladding material, then custom code uses lists of raw materials to automatically calculate how the structure should be built. This works out the best use of materials and generates cutting lists.

The 3D models are generated in real-time and can also be viewed in augmented reality so the user can see the garden room in their own garden and even walk inside and around it.

The user can see instructions and plans, full lists of materials needed plus the best way to cut the material to save waste which is all created on the fly.

All the software is free to use and the best way to see the full power is to give it a go at www.diysheds.co.uk.
