Thousands of poppy seeds sown at Trelawney@Wadebridge garden centre to remember WWI

On Friday, May 2 staff from Trelawney Garden Leisure @Wadebridge in Cornwall sowed 40,000 poppy seeds to commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War One.

The poppies at the entrance of the garden centre will flower in the summer.

General manager at the centre, Peter Burks, said: "We wanted to do something different at the garden centre to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI and it seemed fitting to plant poppies.

"It will look wonderful once they have all flowered and a very fitting way to remember all those that were lost."
