The big clean up

Added: 26 August 2011

Similar events were seen across the country, with communities pitching in to help take back control of their town and help local businesses affected by the violence.

A number of the retailers DIY Week has spoken to over the past few weeks praised local residents for their help in the aftermath and said they felt lifted by the community spirit and support offered by people.

Website www.delootlondon.co.uk has also been set up to help support looted stores and get shoppers spending there money where it is needed. From hardware shops and locksmiths, to electrical retailers and pet stores – you can add a shop to the list by emailing help@delootlondon.co.uk
