Staff in consultation as Homebase considers closing Llandudno store

Published: 18 August 2014
Retail chain confirms that it is proposing to close the store on Mostyn Champneys Retail Park in Wales, putting close to 40 jobs at risk.
Continuing with an assessment of its store portfolio, as leases come up for renewal, Homebase has entered into a period of consultation with the colleagues employed at the Llandudno branch.

A spokesperson for Homebase said: "Homebase can confirm that the business has entered a period of consultation with colleagues concerning the proposed closure of our store in Llandudno. Colleagues at the store have been informed and we will be working with them over the next few weeks to support them as much as possible."

It added: "Due to commercial sensitivities, we are unable to comment further at this time."

It states they are "considering closure" I wonder why the site has already been sold to B&M BARGINS THEN, considering means might do...this is a done deal and the 40 staff should seek legal advice, starting with a review of planning applications on their site
