Sipcam announces new distribution partnership with Thompson & Morgan

Published: 10 September 2019 - Kiran Grewal

As part of the ongoing growth and expansion of Sipcam Home & Garden, the company has announced a new distribution partnership with the seed and horticultural brand supplier, Thompson & Morgan.

As of October 2019, Thompson and Morgan will be distributing Sipcam Home & Garden’s leading ecofective range of environmentally-friendly plant care products to UK garden retailers. Thompson & Morgan currently supply over 60% of UK garden centres, forging strong relationships thanks to its popular seed range, complementary growing products, grow kits and scatter gardens. Now with the ecofective portfolio, this combined offering will make it even easier for garden retailers to access top-selling flower and vegetable seeds, as well as natural pest control products, chemical-free fertilisers and organic plant feeds.

Commenting on this next chapter for the business, Sipcam’s head of sales, Nigel Thompson, said: “We’re delighted to be announcing this new distribution partnership with Thompson & Morgan. We felt that in order to take our garden centre business to the next level, a partnership would be the ideal solution. Teaming up with Thompson & Morgan in the garden centre channel feels like a logical, positive and natural thing to do. The company has a great pedigree in supplying seed and other products into this established channel, and also has great empathy with what we are doing. The team also communicate regularly with the same buyers as we do, meaning the partnership will enable retailers to easily add our products to their T&M orders.  A result of this is that we will be able to focus on other key areas of developments – such as new product development, packaging innovation and bringing to market greener, and even more effective ranges - whilst also benefitting from having a partner that will support and develop this vital channel.”

Thompson & Morgan’s head of B2B sales, Joseph Cordy, added: “The whole team at T&M are really excited to be selling the ecofective® product range; we know our customers are going to love it and the unique proposition that it offers. We believe it complements our existing range really well.”

Sipcam has confirmed that it is continuing to see an increasing awareness and resulting demand for more environmentally conscious products from both trade and consumer markets. As a result, the company will be launching additions to its Child & Pet Safe, and Natural collections at Glee, as well as a refresh for the RHS licenced range.
